So....Threads? (This is what happens when go dark in a river canyon for 6 days – gauntlets get thrown and Tech Giants go to Rome to duke it out.)

 

Debates on whether the world needs more (knock-off) social platforms aside, we couldn't do an Ambush without acknowledging our bandwagoning (scroll down for more)...but only AFTER some ballast by way of sciatica pain "fixes", a book every parent should read, Kelly's (continued) obsession made visual, and a glimpse at the aforementioned river trip.

 

Civilization has officially been re-entered.

What We're Sharing Widely –

This piece on improving sciatica pain. Sciatica, you unruly beast. Woe unto those who suffer at her merciless hand. The commonly accepted narrative maintained that once she reared her ugly head, the only two outcomes were surgery or misery. That didn't sit well with us, so we put together an article on effective techniques and tips for improving sciatica pain – from desensitization (relieving pain in the short term) to restoration (opening the nerve tunnel back up) to prevention of future issues. What We're Reading –

Supernormal. We often find ourselves at the table with some pretty extraordinary people. Over time, we’ve become mini-obsessed with what makes these incredible performers tick, especially since we are trying to raise two young teenagers. Author Meg Jay’s amazing book Supernormal explores the stories of badass people that have learned to function at extremely high levels in spite of childhoods of trauma and diverse hardships. This book came as a recommendation from our 2x Olympic gold medalist friend who is finishing her doctoral degree in psychology. She is quick to point out that difficult seas can often produce some pretty incredible sailors. Says Kelly: "Everyone with a family could stand to read this book."

What We're Obsessed With (Still) –

GORUCK Sand Kettlebells. We mentioned these a few Ambushes ago, but sometimes seeing is believing. As you can see in the video (click the link), you really can beat the sh!t out of these things. They're the perfect tool for incorporating more rotation, more athleticism into your programming. Find a wall, find an unoccupied stretch of road, and start horking.
